A Barack Obama dress by Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, left, and a preppy dress by Sonia Rykiel seen at Paris Fashion Week.
Most think the beauty of America of being able to vote however you like. The real beauty, however, is being able to take those votes and turning them into something completely outrageous, something different, something hot.
Call it a justifiable political bandwagon. Miss it now and you’ll be out of luck for the next four years.
For the guys, turning those votes into a fashion statement could mean rocking a throwback Obama high school basketball jersey or a McCain 3/4 sleeve jersey Tee.
Maybe it’s just a regular Tee proclaiming the greatness of Obama or McCain.
But for the gals, it takes a bit more creativity.

Celia Walden wears the Jean Charles de Castelbajac dress emblazoned with Obama's features.
At Paris Fashion Week this month, French designer Sonia Rykiel paid homage to Democratic presidential candidate Obama with a magnitude of outfits.
It officially changed the name of the month to Baracktober.

I am in love with Christian Louboutin’s Ariella studded boots.

I’m highly considering taking the plunge against my better judgement.

Hearst Magazine has decided the time has come for CosmoGirl magazine, the spin off of Cosmopolitan magazine, to come to a close.
The subscriber support will be merged into Seventeen magazine, a fellow Hearst publication.
CosmoGirl has been low in ad pages, 527 for the month of October, while ratings were up by 15.5 percent in last year’s rankings.
Thankfully, all employees will have a chance to interview within the company.

“I don’t do reality. I do hyper-reality. It’s reality on its toes, it’s elevated, it’s popped, it’s invigorated, it’s Technicolorized,” she says. “I think at this time that we’re in, people are drawn to a little escapism.” - P.Fields in interview with WWD

I honestly thought that J.C. Penney was on the road to filing Chapter 11,
but apparently not. Charlotte Ronson has signed a long-term based deal with Penney stores to design a full contemporary sportswear collection titled I [Heart} Ronson. The line will hit 600 stores this spring and will be available on jcp.com and Penney’s catalogs <— Can we say 90s?
I thought it would be appropriate to add in Mark Ronson’s mixtape from Charlotte Ronson’s Spring 09′ fashion show. This so does not scream elevator music.

What were you doing at the age of 16? Better yet, what were you
wearing?
I bet it wasn’t a Balman inspired jean with a ‘rock and roll’ vibe or an oversized mohair sweater by Lillith. And something tells me you didn’t blog about Ann Demeulemeester boots like 16 year-old Jane does.
Jane, girl at right, is yes, 16. She dresses in/blogs about all of the above.
Living outside the Dallas area, Jane “chronicles her style addiction, shoe affliction and [other] things that may cross [her] mind” on her blog, Sea of Shoes. I’m still a little boggled as to how she has acquired such beautiful things at such a young age, I mean who has acrylic Marni wedges when they are still in drivers ed??!! None-the-less, I urge you to check out the site. Note: Beware of the jealousy that will indefinitely overwhelm you.
